4over.com, headquartered in Glendale, California (with Canadian production facilities in Mississauga, Ontario) has installed a Scodix Ultra Pro Digital Enhancement Press. Characterized as a “game changer” for the leading trade printer, the new press is an “industry trailblazer in print-order fulfillment for print brokers, commercial printers and industry professionals,” said 4over. Specifically, 4over purchased its Scodix Ultra Pro with a foil unit to expand the capabilities they’ll be able to offer their customers, allowing them to now produce a wideer range of high-end specialty finishing products.

“At 4over, we’ve always prided ourselves on offering an unprecedented product mix, best-in-class equipment and superior quality – and our nationwide delivery network is unmatched in trade printing,” said CEO Zarik Megerdichian. “The addition of the Scodix digital enhancement system not only meets our production demands of speed and quality, but it enables us to create a robust new revenue stream. It’s a business opportunity that positions 4over at the forefront of newly emerging market segments in the print industry.” The feature that the company is most excited about is the ability to expand its raised spot-UV coatings in combination with foil finishing options. “We launched Raised Spot UV on Suede cardstock and Raised Spot UV with Foil on Suede cardstock – and with the new press, we’re going to be able to expand those product offerings in some very interesting ways,” Megerdichian added. “Our customers have responded very positively to both products, and we’re excited about seeing where we can take them next.” The Scodix Foil Station, which is an optional module 4over chose to include in their configuration, runs inline with the Scodix Ultra Pro, delivering “unmatched foil enhancement capabilities.” It deploys a wide range of hot and cold industry-standard foil films, coupled with a variety of substrates and processes – including offset, digital, plastics, laminated and non-laminated, and coated and uncoated options.
