Founded in 1874, Boehmer Box operates one of Canada’s most advanced folding carton manufacturing plants spanning over 320,000 square feet and churning out 700 million cartons annually. The addition of a manroland sheetfed 8-colour, 56” R908 HiPrint Press this summer will help the company continue its tradition of setting new precedents with a focus on high impact, high quality products. The Kitchener-Ontario-based printer specializes in everything from full-scale packaging production to short-run cartons, to product samples and promotional or test-marketing kits for a wide range of food, beverage and consumer packaged goods.
“At Boehmer Box, our efforts are to exceed our customer’s current expectations and this is achieved by investing in the right technology, investing in our workforce, and co-operating with our customers to ensure we meet their goals,” said Corey Deschamps, Director of Manufacturing (pictured previously).” After evaluating several different scenarios, having competitive press models as well as experience with manroland Sheetfed Presses, we chose manroland Sheetfed. They’re an ideal partner for us and have always worked to exceed our expectations and ensure we maximize the performance of the press.”
“With the addition of the HiPrint 8-colour, 56” Press, Boehmer Box will reduce their lead-time and inventory, as well as add increased capacity for many years to come,” said Sean Springett, U.S. and Canadian Marketing Manager for manroland Sheetfed.
Karl Broderick, Vice-President of Sales at Boehmer Box added: “Boehmer’s early adoption and continued use of extended colour gamut technology will be further enhanced with the press and its advanced colour control technology, including its its ColorPilot Plus option. Boehmer now has the fastest, most efficient and user-friendly colour control system.”
The highly automated, high efficiency large-format press produces more multiple-up images than smaller format presses with shorter make-ready times. Roland 900 Series presses can print up to 16,000 sph. Their optional Aupasys material logistic systems further increases productivity, making them ideal for high-volume packaging. Their ‘7-o’clock’ cylinder geometry provides a flatter sheet travel path for more reliable large-format production, while their QuickChange Surface cuts fountain cleaning time. The Optional QuickChange Clamp in the coating unit and optional InlineColorPilot with integrated InlineRegister control, cuts waste and dramatically reduces make-ready times.
