Miller McConnell Signs installs AGFA Anapurna H2500i LED Printer from Agfa Graphics Canada

Miller McConnell Signs (Ottawa, Ontario), serving the Ottawa sign and display market since the early 1990s, recently installed an Agfa Anapurna H2500i LED Printer. The company specializes in producing bright, vivid signs on a range of different materials – including mesh and vinyl, pressure-sensitive vinyl, paper, polystyrene, coroplast, foamboard, aluminum, specialty fabrics, and several other substrates. The new printer joins an existing Agfa Anapurna M2 hybrid wide-format UV printer that produces “stunning results” on a variety of rigid materials – including corrugated boards, plastics, metals, film, vinyl, paper, banners, and many other flexible materials. Miller McConnell’s equipment also includes versatile laminating machines that will provide additional protection with a variety of finishes when long-term durability is needed. It’s also one only a few sign companies in Eastern Ontario that has in-house Braille and Tactile sign equipment that can meet all Canadian and American disabilities standards, accurately engraving a variety of materials – including wood, acrylic, plexiglass, and many other types of plastics and metals.
“We were very satisfied with our previous Anapurna that lasted 10 years without any major problems,” said owner Craig McConnell. “We wanted to continue with Agfa as our partner due to the excellent service and quality of products. We decided to purchase the Anapurna H2500i LED because it’s a hybrid that has outstanding print quality along with low operating costs. It can print on rigid panels and rolls up to 98 inches wide at 15 boards per hour in Production Mode.”
The wide-format hybrid Anapurna H2500i LED is ideal for sign shops, digital printers, photo labs and mid-size graphic screen printers that want to combine board and roll-to-roll print jobs. Its 6-colour engine prints at a width up to 2.5 metres and combines high quality with high productivity for outdoor and indoor, rigid and flexible wide-format projects. With the automatic board feeder, productivity is increased even more. Its white-ink function creates possibilities for printing on transparent material for backlit applications or for printing white as a spot colour. The hybrid is fitted with air-cooled UV LED lights that save significant energy, costs and time. Due to their minimal energy output, these LED lights are also ideal for thin heat-sensitive materials and lead to faster operations as they can be switched on and off instantaneously.
