Minuteman Press (Vaughan, Ontario) has installed the new Mohr 80 ECO Paper Cutter from print finishing specialist Sydney Stone. The Mohr 80 ECO offers a 30.5-inch cutting width with fully adjustable hydraulic knife and clamp. Programming of the cutter is via the keypad that enables advanced math as well as push-out to ensure operator safety. MOHR paper cutters are made in Germany by Adolf Mohr Maschinenfabrik GmbH, a world leader in designing and building durable and reliable machines for the graphic arts industry, with over 140,000 units manufactured thus far. “We purchased the Mohr 80 ECO Cutter as our older unit was falling into disrepair and was becoming both costly to service and making our finishing process slower than what we need in order to be efficient,” said Fred Lai Owner at Minuteman Press in Vaughan.
“The Mohr cutter line really is the world leader,” said Michael Steele, Managing Director of Sydney Stone. “We see great promise with this line of cutters as the digital sheet size expands, and as the older cutters currently being used in production become a far less efficient way to finish product. Owners and operators will both gain with a new Mohr cutter by having dramatic reductions in waste and cutting time, while also gaining a reliable and trustworthy cutting machine,” he added.
Sydney Stone was established in 1951 and since that time, has grown to become one of the premier Canadian distributors of print finishing equipment and supplies worldwide. Importing and representing brands such as Morgana, MOHR, EBA, Vivid, Watkiss and Duplo, to name a few, the company’s focus is on providing solutions to the short-run and medium-run printing market.
