Printing and paper specialist Paperland (Markham, ON) has installed a new DigiXpress Hybrid 5+ from leading Canadian equipment supplier PDS. The DigiXpress not only functions as an envelope press like its two predecessors, but is a complete media centre capable of printing on substrates up to 16 point. The 5+ means it can accommodate CMYK plus white or clear toner. The DigiXpress Hybrid comes with EFI Fiery that allows pantone colour matching. Maximum output resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi means it will deliver rich colour and vibrant tones. The entire DigiXpress series (which also includes the DigiXpress Lite and Bold) prints up to 40% faster than other comparable systems. Traditionally used for envelope printing, the new machine can also print business cards, heavy magnets, labels, stationary and banners. Users can also produce transfers that will allow them to print their own T-shirts.
Paperland offers digital, offset and large-format printing and specializes in envelopes, custom boxes, wedding and special-event invitations, posters and banners, menus, business cards and stationary, design and finishing. The company also stocks over 17 specialty papers – including linen, chiyogami, translucent, fibre tissue, colour corrugated, metallic foil, embossing paper and more.
