Parker Pad & Printing (Markham and Haliburton, Ontario) recently installed a new Bobst Visionfold Gluer with a Baumer hhs Gluing System to further grow its folding carton and packaging business. The 70-year-old company “continues with its long history of investing in the latest equipment to better support its growing customer base.” With the new gluer and high-precision gluing system, Parker Pad can offer the market everything from pocket folders to sophisticated folding-carton boxes. Founded in 1946, Parker Pad & Printing has evolved through three generations into a leader in Canada’s printing industry. The company currently employs 65 at its 40,000-sq.-ft. facility in Markham, Ontario where it offers a complete range of services including prepress, litho and digital printing, bindery, finishing and fulfillment services – including direct mail. Its Haliburton facility is 1,350 sq. ft. with 5 employees. The company is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified and bullfrog powered, thus committed to the growth of environmentally accountable printing practices and responsible forest management.
The Bobst Visionfold Gluer’s ease of set-up and dependable repeatability make it an ideal choice for both folding cartons and print finishing applications involving paper, carton board and semi-rigid plastics. It also features accurate pre-breaking with smooth re-opening (180° pre-breaking on all boxes at high speeds, regardless of material used), crease heights from 2 mm to 15 mm (0.1 to 0.6 in), and can fold up to 10,000 bph. Baumer hhs Cold Glue Systems facilitate continuous delivery of liquid adhesives for ultra-precise and cost-effective gluing applications. The OEM’s comprehensive range of application heads “offers the right solution for every system.” Pressure tanks with capacities of 1 to 40 litres supply low-viscosity materials at low pressures of up to 6 bar.
