The Associated Press has reported that envelope, paper-based packaging, and label manufacturer Supremex, with headquarters in LaSalle, Quebec, has acquired Royal Envelope – a leading envelope manufacturer and printer with facilities in Concord, Ontario, LaSalle, Quebec and Burnaby, British Columbia – for $27.4 million (CDN). Royal Envelope was founded in 1989 by Peter Bowles and Lou Tucci, and reported approximately $30 million of revenue during its most recent financial year, primarily from the sale of envelopes and printing services. Royal Envelope employs about 135 people at its two primary production facilities in Concord and LaSalle. Including this most recent acquisition, Supremex now has 13 facilities across 7 provinces in Canada, and 3 facilities in the United States, in total employing approximately 935 people.
