This month certainly starts in Chicago with Print 13. As you may be embracing the arrival of back-to-school routines, hopefully you will also have an opportunity to start the month with some learning at the show. There is a broad mix of sponsored and paid sessions available to you, along with a multitude of partner events on premises.
Of course the show floor is a great area to keep on top of the latest and greatest. If you need a path to get you started, the already-announced Must See ‘Ems Awards are great markers for the new technologies successful in the market. The big winner this year seems to be EFI, with a record eight awards in a variety of categories. Of course, this type of sweep requires a broad range of product categories. We congratulate all of the winners.
In this issue Andrea Mahoney shares more information about one such award winner, Enfocus, for their product Connect ALL 11. This prepress software solution offers a unique app for customers to create and submit files to their printer. In addition to this application, Diana Brown continues to explore the world of mobile gadgetry with ten more useful applications. Many of them are free for you to check out! It’s wonderful to see these large workflow systems develop free client-side applications to make working with a printer that little bit easier. Of course once you have your client’s files you need to be organized about processing them. First time writer Andrea Horne takes us through some prepress basics to keep things simple and organized.
We hope that you find the issue helpful in navigating your way around McCormick Place. We invite you to visit our booth (#3278) and would love to hear what types of technologies you are keen on seeing and reading about. For those of you who aren’t able to attend the show, we will be covering the highlights. There are also many opportunities to participate digitally.
