Leading marketing technology company Prime Data (Aurora, Ontario) has been named one of just 75 Employee Recommended Workplaces in Canada. The recognition is part of the third-annual survey by Morneau Shepell and the Globe and Mail newspaper. The 75 winners are selected organizations that have achieved high standards for healthy workplaces, as reported by their employees. Alison Sanzo, Business Solutions Analyst at Prime Data, spearheaded Prime Data’s entry. Sanzo was supported by over 20 colleagues at the company who each completed a confidential personal assessment for evaluation. Each employee received a summary report to help them with their own health improvements, while Prime Data received a summary report on the health of its workforce as a whole. “We’ve made a deliberate effort over the past few years to put our team’s health and well-being at the forefront,” said Steve Falk, President of Prime Data. “The Employee Recommend Workplace seal is the result of the management team and our employees making extra efforts to be healthy inside and outside of work.”
As part of the goal to be a healthy, productive and engaging workplace, Falk asked his team to complete an anonymous third-party survey each week for several weeks. The results provided regular feedback on what the company was doing right, and what they can do better for employees. This was combined with regular quarterly learning, fitness and productivity campaigns with prizes and celebrations to mark milestones. Many employees have options for remote working. Those on-site often met for potlucks, lunch & learns and barbecues, to ensure they’re bringing social time and fun to the workplace. “We were honoured to have others recognize us officially as a healthy place to work,” Falk added. “While I hoped we were doing well, there’s no better testimonial than employees themselves saying it’s a great place to work.”
