Avanti Computer Systems Limited, a leading Canadian provider of Print MIS solutions, has announced that attendance for its 23rd Annual User Group Conference was up 46% over the previous year – the highest in the company’s history. The annual event was held October 6 – 9, 2015 in Niagara Falls, Ontario offering concurrent sessions for both Avanti Classic and Avanti Slingshot customers. Attendees enjoyed the splendour of Niagara Falls while attending sessions geared towards all levels – from “Newbie” to Expert – of both the Avanti Classic platform, as well as Avanti Slingshot, introduced in 2013 and recent winner of two Must See’Em awards at this year’s Graph Expo. “This year’s conference surpassed all of our goals and expectations,” said Patrick Bolan, President and CEO of Avanti. “Our ‘first-timers’ who made up nearly half of our attendees, were quickly made to feel like welcome members of the Avanti family.”

Sponsors of the event included Ricoh (the Conference’s Gold Sponsor), as well as Xerox, Marcom Central, Soft Solutions, NexTec, Graphic Arts Magazine and ProShip. Sponsors attending the conference also shared ideas with today’s commercial and in-plant printing leaders across North America. Back by popular demand was the “Ask the Experts” room, where Avanti customers could spend one-on-one time with Avanti Classic and/or Avanti Slingshot staff, for valuable advice and ideas to maximize ROI of their Avanti print MIS platform.
“I spent quality one-on-one time with Michelle in the ‘Ask the Experts’ room during the first two days of the conference,” said Joe Farage, President, Buffalo Printing Comany. “All my questions were answered. That alone was well worth the price of admission.” Jayne Demerchant, VP of Export and Business Development, Taylor Printing Group added: “I have learned so much and look forward to taking this knowledge back with me. I was a sponge learning as much as I could, not only from the Avanti team but also the users and their experiences. The networking was incredible.”
Attendees were treated to a one-of-a-kind experience at Avanti’s social event, which took place in picturesque Niagara-on-the-Lake. The group was treated to a tour of Ravine Vineyard, including dinner and wine pairing. The evening was capped off with a bonfire and homemade s’mores – roasted marshmallows and a layer of chocolate sandwiched between two pieces of graham cracker.
