Business leaders and academics gather to discuss innovation and profitable value creation in Canada

Twenty-five industry and academic thought leaders gathered Wednesday, August 31 at the Xerox Research Centre of Canada (XRCC) in Mississauga, Ontario for the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) Industrie 2030 Roundtable discussion on the critical success factors affecting innovation and profitable value creation in a dynamic, digital world. The roundtable, led by the CME and its partners, was aimed at understanding the obstacles that stand in the way of commercializing new products, adopting advanced technologies, and growing business in Canada – and creating a plan to overcome these obstacles.

Insights generated from the Roundtable will provide a foundation for an action plan to double value-added manufacturing by 2030. The action plan will be released at the CME’s National Summit in Ottawa, October 18 – 19, 2016. and inform the highly practical, execution-oriented policy The proposals from the plan will be provided to the Government of Canada through the Minister of Innovation Science and Economic Development’s national Innovation Agenda consultation process.
