You’ve likely read the headlines in the past few months: “Graphics Canada to include helpful new features, collaborated events and conferences; “Graphics Canada attracts industry’s top colour experts for Idealliance G7 Summit on Colour Management; Graphics Canada launches Automation & Workflow Pavilion and Turbo Talks; Labelexpo Global Series and Labels & Labeling partner with Graphics Canada tradeshow.
There’s so much going on at the sold-out Graphics Canada tradeshow, the largest event in the country for the printing and graphic arts industry, that starts today and continues Friday and Saturday, at the International Centre, 6900 Airport Road in Mississauga, Ontario. If you’re involved in any aspect of printing – commercial printer, in-plant, packaging, production, prepress, design and so on – this show is definitely a must attend.
The tradeshow will feature three days of the latest technology, learning opportunities, networking and much more, encompassing virtually all industry sectors. Taking place every two years, the event draws more than 7,000 attendees and over 150 exhibitors occupying more than 100,000 square feet on the exciting show floor. The show floor will feature booths by over 150 leading suppliers to the printing and graphic arts industry – including, Canon, Konica Minolta, Ricoh, Xerox, HP, Epson, Fujifilm, Mimaki, Zund, Roland, GBC, Mark Andy, Domino, INX, Xeikon, Kodak and close to 200 other leading names.
“We’re having our most successful event in recent years,” said Show Manager Dan Mustata. “Our tradeshow floor is sold out, and the show footprint has grown by 6% over 2017. In addition, we have one of largest conference programs ever assembled in Canada, and co-located events with the leading industry associations.”
Some of the key attractions will include areas and pavilions that reflect where the printing industry is heading – including an Automation and Workflow Partners Pavilion, a Dye Sublimation Zone, and a Package Printing Area. A series of keynotes, panel discussions, seminars and other co-located events will round out the three days. This year, Graphics Canada is organizing a Print Executive Forum featuring a senior partner from consulting firm KPMG who’ll discuss the digital transformation of businesses, with insights drawn from the firm’s propriety research; a special presentation from James Aziz, SVP at TC Transcontinental’s Premedia services for Printing and Packaging; and a strategic overview of major trends from IT Strategies, a leading industry research firm.
Also making a return appearance for a keynote presentation will be Frank Romano, professor emeritus at RIT and the eminent commentator on this industry. Other conference attractions will include a panel of graphic arts leaders who’ll provide their insights into forces shaping this industry, a panel of CEOs drawn from the largest suppliers, a panel focusing on women in the printing industry, and a full slate of seminars on key topics including workflow automation, industrial printing, postal issues, entrepreneurship, fabric printing, millennials and social-media strategies.
Collocated events from industry associations include: IdeAlliance G7 Summit for Color Management; Canadian Labels & Package Printing Conference; intelliFLEX Smart Packaging Workshops; PAC Opportunities in Package Printing; Ryerson University Expanded Gamut Summit; NAMMU Postal Series and the DIA Breakfast meeting.
