The CJ Graphics Open House & Fundraiser, one of our industry’s most popular events, celebrated another great evening Friday, December 1 at its new, expanded state-of-the-art production facility at 560 Hensall Circle in Mississauga, Ontario. The annual event, now in its 31st year, is always a wonderful family affair with great food, refreshments, entertainment and camaraderie that raises money for some worthwhile causes. A leading Canadian printer, the company has won more awards than any other commercial printer in North America.

Kicking off the holiday season with style and good cheer, the party offered a chance to gather with clients, suppliers, friends, family and industry peers, welcoming over 2,000 guests for a memorable 6-hour for a visit. Along with fabulous food, refreshments, music and games, the Open House featured a few surprises – including a demo of new CJ technology in the form of a virtual party greeter featuring Jay’s lovely wife Lorena as the model. “It was great to see everyone from the Toronto Printing industry celebrating the season. Thanks for hosting, Jay Mandarino,” said Stephen McWilliam, partner and EVP of Canadian print MIS leader Avanti.
Mandarino, Founder & CEO of CJ Graphics and the CJ Group of Companies, doubled as party host and auctioneer. A live auction of high-end prizes and a silent auction raised over $17,935, with all proceeds going to the special-needs programs offered by CJ’s Skatepark. Volunteers from the Daily Bread Food Bank were also on hand for a food and fundraising drive. Guests donated 1,250 lbs. of food, and CJ matched cash donations dollar-for-dollar for a total of $3,000. Along with industry friends, the party welcomed neighbourhood children and families that use CJ’s Skatepark, as well as many party volunteers, making for a true community event. Mandarino expressed thanks for all who came – especially those who donated their time, effort, merchandise and services.
