Continuous Improvement Conference releases keynote speaker line-up

ciconference-inThe Printing Industries of America (PIA) has released the line-up of speakers for the 2017 Continuous Improvement Conference April 2 – 5 in Pittsburgh, PA. They include: Joe Murli, CEO, The Murli Group; Michael Bremer, President, Cumberland Group-Chicago; Greg Glebe, Founder and CEO, Xylem Design; Jamie Parker, District Manager, Manufacturing Network, FedEx Office; and Rich Diviney, Director of Outreach at Barry-Wehmiller,. They’ll provide guidance and share experiences during the multi-day event focused on Lean Manufacturing and other quality management control systems.

Joe Murli will present Engaging Everyone Everyday: Lean Management at Work, where he’ll outline the six elements (from understanding your “true north” to a culture of accountability) that need to be in place in order to create an organization that can sustain a Lean transformation. Michael Bremer’s session, How to Do a Gemba Walk, is based on his award-winning book by the same name and explains what exactly a Gemba walk is, how to structure an effective one, and why such management walks are necessary to create a continuous improvement culture.

In Fix What Bugs You: Making Problem Solving Your Competitive Edge, Greg Glebe tells the true story of one company’s attempts at creating a Lean culture and helps attendees learn if their company should consider a similar approach. Jamie Parker will deliver a presentation on Why Isn’t Lean Working? Investing in People to Navigate the Lean Road Trip. This will be a candid look at FedEx Office’s struggle to implement Lean, including a very ‘bumpy’ start. Parker will explain how ongoing support of Lean by top management is a model of what can be done. During Rich Diviney’s session, Everybody Matters: Unlocking Unlimited Potential, Barry-Wehmiller’s cultural transformation is on display as Diviney shares his five key learning experiences that have allowed the company to create an environment where everybody matters.
