CTI Paper USA names Gerard Vail VP of Sales and National Accounts

Gerard Vail has been named VP of Sales and National Accounts at CTI Paper USA (Sun Prairie, Wisconsin). He will hold an equity position in the growing North American supplier of premium digital and offset printing papers and envelopes. Vail, most recently Sales Director at Finch Paper, brings a 30-year background in printing and premium coated/uncoated papers. He’s a long-time specialist in digital papers and substrates, continuously driving to help merchants and printers maximize their offerings and profitability. “Gerard is a respected sales and marketing executive with an unrelenting focus on delivering new value and profitability to customers across the U.S. and Canada,” said John Kelly, President and owner of CTI Paper USA. “Merchants, printers and end-users uniformly praise his excellence and consistent hard work on their behalf.” Vail has also served in senior management and sales positions at International Paper Co./xpedx, Nekoosa Coated Products, Lewis Paper and Taylor Corporation.
ctivail1-inHe was VP of Sales & Marketing for the former xpedx Stores division, a network of more than 120 paper stores across Canada and the U.S., where he helped grow profitability, improve and expand e-commerce business and develop new custom services for small and mid-size printers. At Nekoosa Coated, he developed successful national private label programs for merchants, while at Lewis Paper he helped the company nearly double revenues over eight years by working closely with printers and end-users to expand their sales opportunities in digital substrates. At Taylor Corporation, he served as Midwest Regional Sales Manager for Regency (now Navitor), serving printers of all sizes.

Vail was born into the printing and paper industries. His family owned and operated a successful multi-million-dollar trade printing company in Chicago, Illinois. By age 12, he was running a Heidelberg press! A Chicago and Wisconsin native, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1984.
