Digital Sign Technologies unveils Print Head Doctor 12 and 13 printhead cleaning machines

Mississauga-Ontario-based Digital Sign Technologies’ (DST) fully automated, mobile-app-controlled Print Head Doctor 12 and 13 are the newest versions of its printhead cleaning machines for the wide-format printing market. Both are upgrades of the Canadian company’s popular Print Head Doctor (PHD) 11. The technology cleans printheads automatically through a remote control mobile app that uses the company’s proprietary software to show real-time diagnostics as well as custom cleaning cycles that can all be controlled easily through a user’s smartphone.

Features now include more intuitive controls on the machine, re-designed recovery cycles with more flexible control, a mobile app to control the machines from Android devices via Bluetooth, custom cleaning cycles capabilities, self-diagnostics (via graph) and remote control of all machine functions. The machines can fully recover clogged and damaged printheads. This reduces costs associated with sending out printheads to be fixed as well as flushing solutions, maintenance fees and replacement fees.
The Print Head Doctor 12 is also equipped with an automatic pressure control (with a digital pressure readout) and a fluid temperature control. This creates higher flow and higher pressure that allows cleaning of multiple printheads at once for improved efficiency. The most advanced machine, the Print Head Doctor 13, includes all features of model 12 plus the capability of automatically switching the fluid flow direction in all four of its outputs. Without changing a printhead set-up, the machine can perform all cleaning cycles in a fully autonomous mode. It’s designed for the most advanced users looking to recover large numbers of printheads with minimal operator intervention.
DST has over 15 years’ experience in the wide-format and sign graphics industry. The company specializes in supplies and consumables for a wide range of printers including HP, Seiko, Océ, Mimaki, Mutoh, Roland, Vutek, NUR Expedio, and Zcorp and ProJet 3D. Products include chip chargers, bulk ink systems, ink cartridges and bags, ink degassers, cartridge recycling, printhead recovery systems and more.
