DuPont Digital Printing and EFI Reggiani have introduced DuPont Artistri PK2600 Digital Textile Pigment Ink for EFI Reggiani ReNoir Digital Textile Printers. The new ink was developed by DuPont for EFI Reggiani and is designed primarily for cotton textile roll-to-roll printing that shows performance comparable to reactive ink results. “When two market leaders come together to collaborate on a high-growth area of technology as important as pigment inks for roll-to-roll printing, it’s a powerful combination,” said Ted Zhi, Textile Market Segment Leader, DuPont Digital Printing. “We expect the new DuPont Artistri PK2600 inks and the innovative printing process developed by EFI Reggiani will considerably enhance the role of pigment inks for high-speed digital printing applications in the future.”
The companies added that, in addition to cotton textile roll-to-roll printing, the ink also works well on a number of fabrics that cannot be printed with reactive inks. This includes polyesters, viscose, cotton/polyester blends and non-woven materials. Pigment inks offer a streamlined workflow, faster turnaround and improved environmental attributes. Artistri PK2600 ink provides these benefits while “still offering true colour and the soft feel comparable to reactive printing, excellent fastness and best-in-class digital printing performance.” Because it requires no steaming or washing, job turnaround is significantly faster while water, chemical usage and costs are minimized. “We’re proud of the year-long effort with DuPont on this development, and we’re very pleased with the results that will help customers be more productive, efficient and environmentally friendly,” said Ambrogio Caccia Dominioni, Managing Director, EFI Reggiani.
