The Epson Surecolor SC-P7500 and Surecolor SC-P9500 large-format printers have been named iF Design Award 2020 winners by Hanover-Germany-based iF International Forum Design. Created in 1953, the iF Design Award is recognized around the world as one of the most sought-after awards for innovative industrial product design excellence in products, packaging, communications, interior and exterior architecture, service design and professional concepts. The award seal is the oldest independent design seal in the world and a symbol of outstanding design achievements that focus on the innovative power of design.
Products are evaluated based on a wide range of criteria – including practicality, workmanship, consideration of environmental standards, degree of elaboration and innovation, functionality, usability, safety, aesthetics and universal design. This year’s winners were selected from 7,298 entries across 56 countries and regions, by a 78-member jury comprised of industry experts from around the world.
As successors of the Surecolor SC-P9050V and SC-P9050G, the Epson Surecolor SC-P7500 and Surecolor SC-P9500 are “regarded highly as the industry standards for reproducing high-quality images in fine art, for proofing and in photo laboratories,” said the OEM. “These products provide the functional operability of high-quality professional tools, such as internal lighting to immediately check printed material and a neutral colour that does not interfere when making colour adjustments.”
