Freseners to offer hands-on training boot camp for garment printers

The hands-on garment printing classes are proof that learning can also be fun.

Freseners (Bowling Green, Kentucky) has been teaching classes on garment printing since 1979, and has had well over 15,000 students attend its popular training workshops. The classes are led by Mike and Scott Fresener. Its T-Shirt Screen Printing Workshop covers everything from basic artwork preparation and computer graphics, to screen making, how to use inks, printing and press set-up, the business aspects, marketing and selling, pricing, the overall industry and more. Students also learn about using specialty inks like puff and glitter, and how to make heat transfers and print multi-colour images on black shirts.
The Sublimation Workshop teaches all about the process and how to print mugs, tiles, uniforms, jerseys, t-shirts and more. The Master Colour Separator Workshop taught by Scott Fresener is hands-on and teaches how to use Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, and do colour separations – including high-end photo-realistic separations for dark shirts. Classes are geared towards all level of printers – from start-ups to experienced garment screen printers. In many cases, two people attend from the same company or family and Freseners offers discounts if you take all classes back-to-back. “We’ve had great success with these classes over the years and we know from the feedback that we take people to an entirely new level. Whether they’re beginners just starting a business, or already printing and wanting to improve their quality and take on more complex jobs, the classes are exactly what they need,” said Scott Fresener.
Class dates and topics are:

  • T-Shirt Screen Printing from A-Z: August 1-3, September 12-14 and October 24-26.
  • All About Sublimation: August 4, September 15 and October 27.
