“Creative design is the most powerful tool a brand owner has to attract a consumer the moment his or her product hits the store shelf. In an industry focused on increasingly complex designs, we tend to lose focus on the importance of stepping into the minds of the consumer through market research,” said the FTA. The Flexographic Technical Association’s (FTA) Forum 2018, will shed some light on the mindset of a consumer as the third technical session of day two, Taming Consumer Behaviour Through Packaging Design, takes place Monday, May 7 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Co-chairs Kevin Bourquin of Cyber Graphics and Dawn Connell of Snyder’s-Lance, will lead a group of professionals who’ll walk through the various steps a package design goes through – from initial concept all the way to the pressroom floor. “This session was designed with the package printer in mind,” said Connell. “Attendees should expect nothing less than an open and transparent conversation with creative design professionals, consumer insight experts, and a CPG brand owner, as we discuss real-life packaging design challenges – and how printers can be champions for success.” Also engaging in the discussion will be Jason Edelen (We Are Alexander), Michael John (3M Company), decision analyst Jerry Thomas, and Jason Troutman (3M Company).
Forum 2018, themed Bringing It All Together: Synchronizing Processes, People and Potential, will take place May 6-9 at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown in Indiana. Co-located with the event is Infolex 2018, set for May 7 and 8 at the Indiana Convention Center. Every full forum registration includes entrance to the Infloflex trade show floor, where more than 240 of the industry’s top suppliers will be exhibiting their most innovative technologies.
