New this year is the SGIA Specialty Graphics Opportunity Zone. One session of particular interest to Ontario large-format printers is Understanding Changes to WHMIS and New Ontario Safety Requirements, by Rick Hartwig on Friday, April 17. Impressive line-up of seminars and speakers
There are other helpful educational sessions including the Graphics Canada Seminar Series, Cross Media & Integrated Marketing Conference, Innovations Theatre, Label & Packaging Panels and the DIA Breakfast Meeting. Jay Mandarino, President of the ever-expanding C.J. Group of Companies, will be discussing mergers and acquisitions.
IDEAlliance Summit
Another first will be the IDEAlliance 2015 G7 Summit. IDEAlliance G7 methods are used worldwide to ensure consistent proof-to-press matches. The Summit will explore the latest developments in G7 methods and best production practices. Both G7 novices and experienced pre-media and production professionals should attend. Presenters include Don Hutcheson (the inventor of G7 methodology), Ron Ellis, David Hunter, Mike Ruff and Steve Smiley. Sessions will address: Expanded Gamut and G7; Breakthroughs in Spot Colour Process Control; M1 – Impact on Lighting, Measurement and G7; Beyond Sheetfed – G7 for Wide Format, Screen, Digital and Flexo; Using G7 to Grow Your Business; and The Future of G7. Printing software training opportunities
Another key event is the Printing Software Training Day Thursday, April 16. Affordable sessions will explore how online, diversified, data-driven print software is the primary tool for thriving in the digital age. The event will also focus on web-to-print and print MIS (Management Information Systems).
