At this year’s recently concluded drupa tradeshow, digital finishing was one of the major areas of interest. Specifically, in the realm of sheetfed laser die cutters, Hans Gronhi Graphic Technology from China reported excellent results.
“At the Hans Gronhi booth, hundreds of visitors enjoyed our daily demonstrations and took home printed die-cut samples,” said Helen Jing, General Manager of Hans Shinohara Canada, located in Mississauga, Ontario. “In total, we demonstrated the Shinohara 75 Offset Press and several of our state-of-the-art sheetfed laser die cutters that can accommodate sizes of 19”x13″, 26”x19″ and 41.7”x23.6″.
What impressed visitors the most, said the company, was that these laser die-cutters are ideal for multi-shaped labels, cards and tags and packaging with scoring. The roll-to-roll model was an especially interesting machine for label printers.
During the tradeshow, three laser die cutters were sold to customers from Turkey and Korea, with many other interested printers agreeing to sign contracts in near future. Hans Grohni also reported that one of the most attractive features of its machines was that they can accommodate short runs and custom shapes while at the same time reducing delivery times. Of particular interest was the Hans Gronhi’s 19”x13″ digital laser die cutter that can work in tandem with the company’s sheetfed digital printers.
