For the first time in Canada, Hans Shinohara Canada showcased its LC340S 19” x 13” sheetfed digital finishing press that’s ideal for short-run, custom-shaped labels, greeting cards, tags and package boxes – as well as precise engraving on paper, wood, leather and more. The fully automated, computer-driven sheetfed laser die cutter with scoring capabilities, is for printers who want to save time and money while improving cutting precision versus traditional mechanical die cutting. It automates the die-cutting process and is ideal for small labels, short-run, multi-shaped digital labels, custom-shaped cards, prototypes, packaging, and other projects that normally require more expensive mechanical dies. Its Optical Laser Tracking System ensures precise positioning. Users can also adjust the power and cutting speeds for different projects and materials, including special media. More laserheads can be added as needed on the LC340S. The model can also laser-engrave quickly and accurately on a wide variety of traditional and difficult substrates with ease – opening up exciting new product and revenue opportunities for commercial printers. Technical product brochures were also distributed at the Print 17 tradeshow.
