Ilya Romashov has been awarded the fourth annual Charles H. ‘Chuck’ Forman – Crawford Technologies Scholarship through the EDSF (Electronic Document Scholarship Foundation). This scholarship was created to honour the contributions Chuck Forman made throughout his career towards Crawford Technologies (Toronto, Ontario) and his industry. Forman lost his battle with cancer on October 2, 2013. “Ilya’s achievements are exemplary and I’m proud that he’s receiving the fourth annual EDSF Scholarship in Chuck Forman’s name,” said Ernie Crawford, President of Crawford Technologies. “He certainly has a bright future ahead and we expect that he will do great things with his career.”
Romashov is a freshman at the Pratt Institute in New York City. His accomplishments include:
- GPA of 4.1 and pursuing a degree in Communication Design.
- Member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honors Society.
- Volunteer at the Community Kitchen in the Methodist Church of Lambertville.
- T-shirts designer for various school sporting events.
“My whole life I’ve always enjoyed creating something new – such as installations, drawings, models and different projects,” said Romashov. “I enjoy creating things for others in order to bring them joy and wonder. I want people to appreciate and make good use of the art objects I create. I’m also looking forward to expanding my skill set, and that’s why I’m attending Pratt University. I’m sure that, in this new environment, I will experience opportunities I’ve not seen before. I would like to create my own distinct, recognizable style that will draw people’s attention,” he added.
The Charles H. ‘Chuck’ Forman – Crawford Technologies Scholarship awards $1,000 annually to a bright, up-and-coming, full-time student committed to pursuing a career in the document management and graphic communications industry.
