At drupa 2016 (May 31 to June 10 in Düsseldorf, Germany), Komori’s main theme will be “Open New Pages,” as the company highlights new business models that connect customers with Komori by linking offset, inkjet and the management factors related to printing plant production and quality. Following Komori’s sub-theme, “Connected Print,” drupa 2016 marks the start of general availability of the Impremia IS29, Komori’s inkjet UV printing system. The Impremia IS29 is a state-of-the art inkjet printing system capable of printing on a wide range of stocks. By taking advantage of UV inkjet characteristics, this system is ideal for both commercial print applications and package printing.
Also being demonstrated will be the B1-size Impremia NS40 digital printing system that uses new nano-technology under license from Landa Corporation. This new product will perform high-speed printing at 6,500 sheets per hour and is the world’s first B1 inkjet printing system. Visitors will experience the technical innovations and performance improvements made in the four years since initial introduction at drupa 2012.
Visitors looking for a one-pass, double-sided press that extends offset-on-demand, should check out the Lithrone GX40RP – equipped with the latest Komori technologies to provide “the ultimate short make-ready” by using parallel control and high productivity up to 18,000 sheets per hour. The GX40RP requires no flipping of the sheet, maximizing print area and making it an ideal solution for the increasing demand for package printing with double-sided multi-colour printing.

Making its debut in Düsseldorf will be the new Lithrone G29 29-inch offset printing press. With a renovated design, it’s capable  of high quality printing that’s “a perfect match for H-UV printing” which is increasing in demand. Equipping this press with the latest in systems and automated devices, it provides short make-ready and reduced total lead times.
Another compact press to be introduced at drupa 2016 is the new Lithrone G37. With a 25-inch x 37-inch maximum sheet size, this press can produce A1-size products and is an ideal solution for handling a wide range of needs in publishing and commercial printing using either light or heavy stock. The drupa press will also feature Komori’s new H-UV L (LED) instant curing system that enhances the low-energy footprint of the GL37.
Komori ICT (Information Communications Technology) Solutions will also be showcased. These solutions provide powerful support for improving pressroom productivity including:

  • KP-Connect for simple visualization of operating conditions over the cloud any time and any where.
  • K-Station 4 for optimum scheduling of all presses.
  • K-Color Simulator 2, Komori’s colour management system for high-level colour matching of offset and digital.

Consumables, sustainability and more
Komori’s K-Supply consumables will be featured in the K-Supply/Service area, which will also provide information on ancillary equipment designed to integrate seamlessly in the pressroom. Komori will also demonstrate the Apressia CT137 cutter as a part of its print engineering service provider business, demonstrating the cutting of printed sheets that have been cured by the H-UV system and finished as final products.
Finally, two more areas will be of special interest to visitors. The Komori Ecology Corner will have solutions for those seeking a higher level of sustainability in their facilities, while the Web Offset/Chambon Corner will showcase printing samples from an H-UV equipped Komori-Chambon press displayed to further confirm the high print quality possible with H-UV.
