Massivit 3D Printing Technologies (Lod, Israel) will use drupa 2016 (May 31 to June 10 in Düsseldorf, Germany) for the first public demonstration of its new Massivit 1800 printer with “groundbreaking” technology that produces unique attention-grabbing large-format 3D displays for a wide variety of markets. A fast, large-format 3D printer, the Massivit 1800 is ideal for high-level marketing, advertising and themed projects.
With output speeds up to 1.8 m/6 ft. high, printers can extend their product portfolio beyond 2D, and “have access to a profitable new and unique application capability, and an important business differentiator to enhance their competitive edge and secure their future,” said the OEM.

At the heart of the printer is the company’s proprietary GDP (Gel Dispensing Printing) technology that enables instant solidification and high-speed printing. The printer also utilizes techniques that allow it to print non-vertical walls and ceilings, without the need to produce a solid object or intensive support structure. So “in printing less to achieve the same result,” the Massivit 1800 is able to dramatically increase print speed, while also reducing material costs and product weight – crucial for additional materials handling, transportation and storage benefits.
Specifications include speeds up to 1,000 mm/39 inches per second in x-axis and y-axis, productivity up to 35 cm/1 ft. of object growth per hour (z-axis), easy printing of two different objects in parallel, low material consumption due to ‘support-less’ printing, and low energy consumption LED UV curing lamps.
