Pankaboard launches new cartonboard for luxury packaging after opening sales office in North America

Following recent major investments, and as a result of extensive product development, Finnish-based Pankaboard has introduced a new folding boxboard to its growing product portfolio, on the heels of opening its own sales office in North America – that will also serve Canadian customers. Pankalux is a new GC1 folding boxboard that’s been engineered for the specific demands of the luxury packaging market – and the luxury beverage sector in particular. With a substrate range of 285 – 560 gsm, it offers outstanding printing quality, an improved surface for lamination, and superiour runnability on high-speed packaging presses.

Pankaboard opened its own sales office in North America in early August, demonstrating its long-term commitment to North American markets and customers. “North America is a key market and the physical presence in the U.S. will facilitate optimization of service and sales to existing and prospective customers,” the company added. The United States sales office is located in Stamford, Connecticut and is led by Michael Walsh, formerly with Stora Enso North America. Walsh has extensive knowledge and experience with cartonboard products, end users and U.S logistics. The sales office is the company’s fifth facility located outside of Finland, and is part of its long-term strategy to increase sales and improve service in key markets worldwide.
