PIA seeks speakers for its 2019 Continuous Improvement Conference by August 31

The Printing Industries of America (PIA) is currently seeking speakers for its 2019 Continuous Improvement Conference to be held April 14-17, 2019 at the Fairmont Hotel in downtown Dallas, Texas. Conference organizers are seeking industry professionals willing to share their expertise and lessons learned in implementing continuous improvement strategies. Last year individuals from Excelsus Solutions, Gill Studios, GLS/NEXT Precision Marketing, Mimeo, Multi-Color Corporation, Vox Printing, Wright Global Graphics, and several other companies, presented at the conference. Some of the speakers were executives while others have been operations and production or process improvement managers. Also welcome are submissions from continuous improvement consultants and professionals outside the industry – if the topics are directly related to print providers. The conference is the only annual event focused on helping printing and converting companies achieve operational excellence by using the concepts of Lean Manufacturing and other management and quality systems. “Year after year attendees directly link reduced costs, lowered waste and increased profit margins, to ideas gained from conference presentations and networking,” said organizers.
A wide range of topics will be covered at the conference and fall into one of 4 basic categories:

  1. Leadership and Culture. (servant leadership, leading with a Lean mindset, leader standard work, etc.)
  2. Process and Tools. Fundamental (5S, visual management, standard work, quick changeover, etc.)
  3. Process and Tools. Advanced (sustaining, policy deployment, value stream mapping, etc.)
  4. Growing and Developing People. (acquiring/onboarding talent, best practices, training, coaching, mentoring, etc.)

The deadline to submit a speaking proposal is Friday, August 31, 2018. All topic submissions will be reviewed by the Continuous Improvement Advisory Committee. For more information on becoming a speaker, or to submit a proposal, please visit https://ci.printing.org/call-for-speakers/.
