The Print 17 tradeshow is the largest gathering of the printing, publishing, in-plant, graphic communications and mailing/fulfillment communities in the Americas. It’s returning to Chicago September 10-14, 2017, once again at McCormack Place. Amazing Print Tech (Booth 667). Its web2print software empowers printers with template-based tools to effectively market, drive and close sales online. The upgraded version of its design engine, eCardBuilder 5.2, has 100 new products and thousands of added templates. A new book Cloud Production, by Amazing Print President Slava Apel and Dr. Joe Webb, will be released. Print sales expert Dave Fellman and Apel are also collaborating on a new book, Print Sales and Marketing: Traditional and Digital Customer Acquisition, that explains how to generate leads and close a sale.
Avanti (Booth 635). Avanti has helped hundreds of printers improve profitability with its JDF-certified Print MIS. Avanti Slingshot helps you deliver more jobs in less time, knowing that every aspect of your shop is integrated into one powerful platform. New modules include Mail and Postage Accounting, Scheduling Reservation System, Wireless Warehouse Management and its bi-directional certified Integration with Avalara AvaTax.
BDT Print Media (Booth 4609) will debut its VX-370 Banner Sheet Feeder for mid-range commercial digital presses. The VX-370 handles “the widest range of media and formats in the industry.” Using BDT’s Tornado Technology, a huge enhancement in overall productivity and reliability is possible via its fully automated media-handling process. BDT will also introduce its new TPF-800 Feeder, offering fast media changes with no manual adjustments – “an industry first for this size of feeder.”
Buskro (Booth 2260) has evolved into an industry leader in the design and manufacture of high quality printing, tabbing/labeling and card-processing equipment. Be sure to ask about its BK730 Tabber and BK730WL Wide Label Tabber.
Crawford Technologies (Booth 454) provides document solutions that streamline, improve and manage customer communications. Its software solutions for automated workflows support the migration to new inkjet presses and streamline and monitor production processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Crawford provides omni-channel solutions to more than 1,800 print and mailing providers and firms worldwide. Its new Pro Preference Manager makes it easy to transform documents into new formats and deliver them according to specific end-customer preferences.
DocketManager (Booth 240), built by printers for printers, is a cloud/SaaS print management solution with a fully integrated web-to-print system. It includes modules for customer management, estimating, production, accounting and ecommerce combined in a single integrated solution. Users can manage their entire company from one system. The browser interface requires no installation of any software locally. It’s also designed to handle hybrid shops – digital, offset, wide format, label, in-plant, 3D, etc.
Gateway Bookbinding Systems (Booth 3816). The plastic spiral experts and makers of Plastikoil binding will be demonstrating its entire equipment line, including the Plastikoil Concept QS Interline series for in-house coil manufacturing and automated coil insertion. Also featured will be the The PBS 2800 Koilmatic – a fully electric tabletop automatic coil inserter – as well as several counter-top production machines. Gateway’s Plastikoil products are available in 45 colours and are lead-free and phthalate-free.
Graphic Whizard (Booth 420) will showcase a wide range of digital print-finishing systems. Its PT 335SCC Multi is a complete, full-bleed finishing system with interchangeable creasing/perforating dies that can prevent digital toner cracking. It can perform partial perfs in both directions for “T” or “box” perfs. Users can make short work of business cards, invitations, brochures, catalogues, posters, book/CD covers, photographs and more by simply loading the high capacity 4” pile feeder. Sheets up to 350 gsm at 25 sheets per minute (8.8” x 11”, 2 cuts, 1 crease) can be processed.
Have Our Plastic (Booth 3144). Its Zodia Synthetic Paper is a family of tough, durable synthetic products that are stronger than paper, more environmentally friendly than other plastics, and more cost-effective than other synthetic substrates on the market. Made of polypropylene, it offers a balance of physical characteristics that combine the best properties of both paper and film. The lightweight material has a smooth surface that’s resistant to water, chemicals, abrasion and aging.
Longford International (Booth 3205) designs and manufactures turnkey fulfillment systems that integrate just about every type of OEM equipment. Products include feeders, batch counters, tipping systems, feed/read/print/verify systems, track & trace systems, parts, circuit boards, encoders, motors, photocells and more. Target industries include printing, pharmaceutical, food, packaging, plastic card, gaming and more.
Mediaclip (Booth 4543). Mediaclip develops product personalization software that empowers users to create and sell a huge variety of products on an online store. It’s available on-premise, in the cloud, or as a pre-integrated turnkey option. Mediaclip provides an easier, more engaging end-user experience, photorealistic previews that increase conversion rates and reduce cart abandonment, smart designs that make offering unique content easier, and tools that enhance merchandising techniques. It can also be integrated into an existing e-commerce solution.
Messagepoint (Booth 455). Its cloud-based content-management platform software facilitates cost-effective customer communications management of your clients, driving the pace of change for omni-channel print and digital customer communications. Users directly control touchpoint messaging content and business rules. Clients can create, modify and approve customer messaging and targeting rules across all channels prior to production. Ask about its Production Partner Program that allows service providers to resell Messagepoint directly to their customers, or use it as a managed service on behalf of their clients.
Printers Parts & Equipment (Booth 4535). PPE has over 45 years’ experience in the printing industry and extensive knowledge of offset, pre-press, bindery, finishing, spare parts and consumables. Its line of spare parts, consumables and accessories is “the largest worldwide. We also have the largest network of printers/dealers worldwide.” PPE carries parts for Heidelberg, Komori, Mitsubishi, Manroland, Ryobi and other OEMs, as well as parts and supplies for Polar Cutters, Stahl, Muller Martini and others. It also provides appraisals, liquidations and auction services.
Punchmaster Tool & Die (Booth 3944) specializes in designing and building top quality paper-punching tools and dies, and will showcase existing tools and introduce an exciting new product line. It also provides well-known OEMs with their tool designs for use in punching equipment sold under their own brand name. Its in-house manufacturing guarantees quick turnarounds on many popular patterns. It also produces customized tools and services several leading brands.
Tilia Labs (Booth 158). Tilia’s flagship Phoenix software is an imposition and planning solution for packaging, labels, cards, tags, wide-format and commercial. It’s equally powerful as a pure imposition system for creating print-ready layouts, or as a planning tool to estimate production costs. Its Griffin software is an automatic layout solution specifically for wide-format printers. Griffin utilizes the fast Phoenix nesting engine to create true-shape, tightly nested layouts, helping reduce substrate costs and boost throughput. It’s works well with most presses and cutting tables.
Ultimate TechnoGraphics (Booth 540), the inventor of automated digital imposition, will introduce more solutions for automatic numbering logic for short-run, variable production. With Impostrip, printers can take variable size/quantity orders to production in a ‘just-in-time’ process, eliminating the waiting and waste generated by conventional imposition. Ask about Ultimate Bindery v.5 finishing software that boosts productivity in a short-run, high-turnaround environment, and Impostrip true shape Nesting, ideal for automating true-shape products like die-cut cards, labels and packages.
Web to Print Shop (Booth 148). The W2P Shop by Racad Tech is a modular, web-to-print solution where printers can pick and choose modules, ensuring unique online experiences. Features include: full, customizable product options and pricing calculators; uploading technology to determine document properties; image and font libraries; 60 different payment gateways; discount and coupon codes; and fully customizable user interfaces.
World Of Tape (Booth 1843). World Of Tape will be displaying a full line of specialty tapes – primarily double-sided adhesive tapes used in the printing industry. These include transfer tapes, Kleen-Stik, double-sided Polyester, double-sided PVC tapes and hand-held rolls, as well as machine-length rolls for automatic taping machines. It will also be showcasing its fully automatic adhesive tape applicator machines.
