Characterizing its just-released technology as “a milestone for autonomous print finishing,” Polar Mohr (Hofheim, Germany) has developed the Polar AirGo Jog that can processes entire paper layers automatically. Driven by autonomous end-to-end print finishing, AirGo Jog fully automates the loading and jogging process via an integrated blower unit that’s the core of the new system’s success. First, a Transomat Loading Unit takes an entire paper layer from a pallet and transports it into an automatic jogger. There, the usual jogging process begins utilizing a decisive new component – a blower system. While jogging, two blower units blow air into the cutting layer to ensure the maximum jogging result. The jogged layer is then immediately ready for cutting.
With cycle times ranging from 60 seconds to 90 seconds for the autonomous processing of a complete cutting layer, the technology can “support every post-press department because retrofitting is possible on any cutting system,” said the OEM. In addition to its intuitive operation via an newly designed user interface, the AirGo Jog also has “an attractive market price.” The name of the AirGo Jog is derived from the system’s essential elements: air and jogging. The system also features a significant improvement in ergonomics, as the heavy lifting of paper layers is no longer necessary. The new Polar AirGo Jog should be available beginning in mid-2021, the company added.
