Now premiering at this year’s Graph Expo tradeshow in Orlando, Florida in booth 1248 is the RISO ComColor GD Series of Professional Inkjet printers. RISO’s Canadian supplier, Insource Corporation of Markham, Ontario – including President Tim Wakefield, Alannah Wakefield (Business Development Rep) and Kareem Sesook (Director of Business Development) along with RISO reps – are on hand to explain the many advantages of this groundbreaking system. Insource is a Canadian leader in mailing and fulfillment, printing and packaging solutions.

A high‐speed, full‐colour printer that prints at speeds up to 160 ppm, the GD is the world’s fastest cutsheet inkjet printer (A4, single side short edge), using 5 colours for “exceptional gray scale print quality and lower printing costs.” The new printer, scheduled for launch in early 2017, comes with an embedded GDI, or 2 optional RIPs. The embedded optional true Adobe PostScript RIP supports Mac/Linux, PDF direct printing, and remote printing from most mobile devices. The optional production RIP, the ComColorExpress FS2000C, is equipped with a Fiery digital front end developed by EFI.

This image processor maximizes the ComColor GD series to meet the demands of variable-data printing operations that are vital for direct-mail or transaction printing, and delivers high‐speed data processing to large‐volume, complex document data. Newly formulated ink offers high-density black and vibrant colours. The ComColor GD Series handles a broad range of paper, card stock and envelopes from 3”x 5” to 11”x17” with weights ranging from 46gsm to 210gsm (12‐lb. bond to 56‐lb. bond).
Long recognized as a world leader in digital duplicators and an innovator of inkjet printing technology, RISO is also be showcasing a recently launched digital ComColor FW 5230 duplicator line called the RISO SF Series. The ComColor FW series, launched in the North American market June 15 as a Business Inkjet printer, delivers high speed, full-colour variable-data printing at 120 pages per minute as well as improved scanning, copying, and networking capabilities, all in a smaller footprint than previous models. The ComColor series offers “high productivity, energy efficiency and reliability.”
The RISO SF series of digital duplicators, launched September 1, incorporates several new improvements, delivering the crisper quality of a true 600 x 600 dpi, higher speeds than previous models (up to 150 sheets per minute), and overall easier operation. RISO will also be displaying two concept machines, the T1 and T2 that debuted at drupa in Germany earlier this year. The RISO T1 is a compact, full-colour printer that uses continuous roll‐paper instead of cutsheet paper, enabling printers to use the post‐processing devices that they already have, while incorporating the cost‐effectiveness of RISO printing. The RISO T2 system offers a significant improvement in efficiency for duplex printing, reaching speeds of 300 duplexed prints per minute.
