Students in the Graphic Communications Management (GCM) program at Ryerson University in Toronto are hosting their annual Colloquium on Thursday, February 16, 2017. The event is an opportunity for industry professionals and current students to discuss relevant issues and connect with like-minded peers. This year’s theme is Spectrum+: The Expanded Colour Revolution. It will explore printing beyond CMYK by using an extension of orange, green and violet inks to create a wider variety of colours. Leading industry experts will present a variety of insightful topics on expanded colour gamut specifically related to the printing industry. Free refreshments and snacks will be available.
Speakers will include Kyle Mcvey of Jones Packaging, John Seymour (John the Math Guy), and Nawar Mahfooth of ColorXTC. Registration will begin at 6 pm and presentations will start at 6:30 pm, followed by a panel discussion, Q&A session and a brief reception. Ryerson’s GCM is a four-year degree-granting program that provides comprehensive grounding in modern technologies and business skills. Graduates are highly skilled professionals who enter the business world fully prepared to adapt and respond as managers in the challenging and multifaceted field of printing. The GCM Colloquium is a long-standing annual event organized by GCM students. Each year the students plan an evening in which leading industry speakers are invited to discuss relevant topics in the printing industry. The event also offers networking opportunities, food and refreshments.
