Ryerson University to host its annual GCM Job Fair March 26

Dozens of companies will be interviewing Ryerson GCM students for summer internships and full-time career positions.

Ryerson University’s annual Graphic Communications Management (GCM) Job Fair in downtown Toronto is an opportunity for employers in our industry to interview enthusiastic students seeking summer internships or full-time career positions. This year’s GCM Job Fair 2020 will take place from 4 pm to 9 pm on Thursday, March 26, at the Mattamy Athletic Centre (formerly Maple Leaf Gardens), located at 50 Carlton Street in downtown Toronto.
Participating employers must register by Friday, March 13. Dozens of leading companies will be interviewing eager Ryerson GCM students for third-year internships and fourth-year career positions, with many companies looking to fill multiple positions in their respective companies. Employers offering a paid position within the graphic arts, print or related industries, who have a summer internship position or a permanent full-time position, should register as soon as possible.
GCM is the only degree-granting program of its kind in Canada and its students are prepared to excel in the workplace by offering a diverse range of skills that provide exceptional value to employers. Students typically seek full-time positions that require a minimum of 420 hours of work from the end of April to the end of August, when they return to school. Typical job roles have included:

  • Marketing
  • Graphic Design
  • Document Design
  • eBook/ePub Development
  • Image Retouching
  • Digital Image Capture
  • Print Production
  • Packaging Design
  • Project Management
  • Digital Asset Management
  • Estimating
  • Sales

This year, Ryerson will have 135 third-year interns available for summer employment from late April until early September. Ryerson GCM will also have dozens of graduating fourth-year students ready to start full-time careers beginning in late April. The annual event enables employers to meet up to 20 prospective interns and graduates in short, 10-minute ‘speed-dialing’ formats.
