Screen USA will celebrate the global launch of the 126-inch-wide, roll-to-roll module for its Truepress Jet W3200UV at FESPA 2015 May 18-22 in Cologne, Germany. This new roll-to-roll unit turns the Truepress Jet W3200UV “into one of the industry’s most versatile production-class printers, producing high-quality UV print on both sheeted and roll-fed substrates.” The upgraded flatbed HS (Higher Speed) offers a substantial boost in productivity with wide-format printing up to 1,614 sq. ft./hour, almost doubling the throughput of its predecessor, the Truepress Jet W3200UV (at 914 sq. ft./hour). Printers can also upgrade on-site from the W3200UV to the W3200UV HS if job volumes increase.
The new model features pop-up register pins, auto-cleaning heads, a head-crash detection system and other features “typically found on printers that come with much higher price tags.” It handles premium-margin jobs, such as exhibition graphics and retail signage, as well as posters, product decoration, architectural signage and backlit displays. The 62.9” x 125.9”-wide flatbed table is driven by magnetically encoded linear motors to achieve precision movement. It features six colours plus two white-ink channels. Different print modes can be selected depending on the finished product. For example, Photo Quality and Fine Photo Quality modes can reproduce fine lines, serif fonts and detail in highlight areas, while the Production Mode is optimized for point-of-purchase materials. Text as small as 4-point and 6-point reversed are sharp and legible in all modes.
