To encourage profitable and sustainable business practices in the signage, specialty graphics and wide-format industries, the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) has created a new online Sustainability Resource Center – a “one-stop shop for everything sustainability,” said the organization. The new information hub at https://www.sgia.org/government-watch/sustainability/SGIA-Sustainability-Resource-Center offers many helpful sections and features including:
- Integrating sustainability into your business strategy
- Reducing your operation’s environmental footprint
- Third-party validation to increase customer confidence
- Avoiding ‘green washing’ and gaining valuable credibility
- Gaining recognition for your sustainability efforts
- Purchasing both products and services for the greater good
Three Canadian companies recognized
The organization also announced the recipients of its 2016 Sustainability Recognition Program Award, three of which were Canadian. The program was designed to encourage SGIA member companies to create and adopt sustainable business practices and to set an example for other companies to follow. Selection was based on the submission of required program information and the facility’s actual sustainability policies that are in place.
