STS Inks (Boca Raton, FL), a global leader in ink technology, has introduced Primat-Ink that contains a special resin that gives users a longer-lasting product to print on glass, stainless steel and other non-absorbent surfaces. Unlike prior ink formulations that used UV printing processes, Prismat-Ink is guaranteed to last for ten years, said STS. “We’ve introduced a revolutionary new formulation that will literally change the face of multiple hard surfaces,” said developer and STS Inks’ Founder Shahar Turgeman. He has a background in software and hardware engineering, chemistry and global business, and holds nine patents for ink products made exclusively in the U.S. and used worldwide. One of the many additional benefits, said STS, are cost-saving opportunities for clients who can now access the high quality customized ink formulations, without having to fund their own research and development efforts.
“We first conceived the hard substrate application as a means to meet the specific challenge posed by airport screens which are placed outdoors or semi-outdoors where bright sunlight can quickly compromise the black paint used to hide electrical wiring,” Turgeman added. “What we discovered is that Prismat-Ink is also an excellent formulation for printing directly onto glass, aluminum and stainless steel consumer products – ranging from printing logos on windows and mugs, to beautifully accenting garage doors and camouflaging solar panels.”
stsprimatinks1-inSTS Inks developed Prismat-Ink as a solvent, so it doesn’t run through the glass or other hard substrates. Designed for use with digital printers, there’s no set-up time necessary and it can print the full B&W and CMYK spectrum. STS Inks’ headquarters houses a 30,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility that employs local engineering talent and trains additional staff in skills needed for multiple processes in the development, manufacturing and distribution of inks. Turgeman, along with his research and development team, can also customize ink formulations for specific printers and multiple substrates. STS Inks is the largest ink production firm in the United States and a global leader in the wide-format, industrial and household inkjet ink market. The company has a network of distributors in over 150 countries.
