Sun Chemical has expanded its Streamline range of OEM-compatible digital aftermarket inks with the introduction of new low-odour inks for the North American market. The new Streamline ESL HPQ low-odour inks are the first inkjet products to use Sun Chemical’s new low-odour chemistry. The inks were developed for the Roland Soljet Pro 2, Pro 3 and Versacam printers – and are also compatible with printers from Mutoh, Agfa and Uniform along with other eco-solvent inkjet printers using Epson DX 4 through to DX 7 piezo inkjet printheads. Extensive tests over a six-month period with customers in the United States demonstrated the long-term performance of these inks in a broad range of machine installations, said Sun Chemical.
The new inks are available in CMYK, light cyan and light magenta along with a flush solution. They’ll be available in 440 ml cartridges and one-litre bottles for use with bulk ink supply systems throughout North America. Recently launched in 2014 to the North American market, the aftermarket inkjet inks are designed specifically for use in wide-format printers that use high-quality solvent-based inks and offer “the same level of quality, performance and colour integrity as original equipment manufacturer (OEM) quality printing, but at a much lower cost.” Streamline inks also allow printers to use their existing printer settings when converting from the OEM inks, said the company.

“The industry is seeing a boom in entrepreneurial start-up companies using wide-format printers – and these companies tend to occupy smaller offices,” said Joseph Biegler, Product Marketing Manager of Streamline Inks, North American Inks, Sun Chemical. “Because many of our customers now work in closer proximity to their printer, they really need low-odour inkjet ink cartridges installed in the printer. Our Streamline range of inkjet inks offers a cost-effective alternative to OEM inks.”
Customers who already use Streamline ESL HPQ inks can switch to the new low-odour versions without flushing out their machines because the inks are fully inter-compatible.
