SwissQprint (Kriessern, Switzerland), whose core business is the development and manufacturing of large-format digital printers (with their mechanics, control systems and software all taking shape under one roof), has now added a start-of-the-art Ink Laboratory at its headquarters and employed experienced ink specialists to oversee its ink research and development. “This expansion of our competence is designed to give customers an all-round optimum solution,” said Reto Eicher, CEO of swissQprint. The new ink laboratory will be primarily responsible for ensuring the quality of the inks used, as well as their application suitability.
The newly formed Swiss team of ink specialists also communicates closely with ink suppliers. This interchange, said the OEM, is also to maintain a continuous improvement process. “There has always been a fast and direct flow of knowledge and feedback from the marketplae into the development and printer series production at swissQprint,” said the company. “Adjacency helps this process. Product managers and engineers of the mechanics, control systems and software, all work just a door or two away from production. Such agility is a strength of our company, known for its well-conceived and high-quality large-format printers.”
SwissQprint currently employs more than 100 people at its headquarters and intends to continuously grow. “We’re facing the future with confidence,” Eicher added. Around 40 more people work at swissQprint subsidiaries in the USA, Spain, Germany and Japan – that act as “pure sales and service operations” to complement over 30 partners.
