SOMA (Lanskroun, Czech Republic), a leading manufacturer of flexographic printing presses, slitters/rewinders and laminators, has strengthened its presence in the North American market by appointing Garrett Taylor as its Canada and U.S. Sales Director. The addition, together with the recent establishment of SOMA USA, is an important part of SOMA’s long-term strategic plan to build the company’s operations in the Canada and the U.S, the OEM added.
Taylor comes to SOMA with nearly 25 years of experience in the printing and packaging industries, specifically in the flexographic printing sector. Previously, he was Vice President at AV Flexologic Americas, where he developed business for both mounters as well as flexo sleeves. He’s also been a Corporate Accounts Manager and Equipment Team Lead at Anderson & Vreeland, where he serviced corporate accounts and expanded sales of the company’s products and services. He was Regional Sales Manager representing sleeves and plates at Rotec North America/Flint Group and also spent time in customer service. He began his career at PrintPack, working in its prepress/plate department. Taylor is expected to play a significant role in developing SOMA’s North American operations and confirming its commitment “to bring the latest flexo technology to Canada and the U.S.”
