The new super-wide, dual-production 3.2-metre TX3200 textile printer from ITI (Inkjet Technology, Inc., Sugar Land, TX), can print directly on textile fabrics and handle dye-sub transfer paper applications as well. ITI developed this model with an internal vacuum mechanism to securely hold down the transfer paper (especially thin paper) to prevent cockling. Plus, it comes with an ink collection gutter assembly to handle polyester or mesh-type textiles used in direct printing methods. ITI also developed a specially formulated ink with its OEM ink vendor to handle the printer’s Dual Production mode (so that the ink properties are similar to disperse dyes for direct printing), as well as a dye-sublimation ink for transfer paper printing. This, said ITI, will benefit many textile shops that want the performance of both types of textile printing without the expense of buying two different printers.
The ITI TX3200 Textile Printer can be configured with an optional infrared heat transfer sublimation unit allowing users to directly sublimate the textile media exiting the printer without the need for a separate calendar press unit in direct-textile printing applications. ITI offers the TX3200 printer with the latest Ricoh GEN 5 printhead technology for reliability, speed and performance imaging. Available in a 4-printhead or 8-printhead configuration, the TX3200 offers production print speeds up to 1,000 sq.ft./hr (in the 8-printhead configuration). The TX3200 is equipped with a high volume, 5-litre bulk-ink delivery system. The advanced media roller design, that eliminates traditional pinch rollers, ensures accurate media tracking and fabric/paper handling throughout any print cycle.
“The TX3200 will set the standard now for a ‘dual mode’ production textile printer that’s designed for the large textile print shop requiring around-the-clock, wide width, heavy-duty capacity workflow,” said Paul McGovern, ITI Director of Marketing & Business Development. “It’s ideal for the high quality production of exhibition graphics and banners, as well as commercial and home furnishings.
