Ultimate earns Vanguard Breakthrough Award

Julie Watson, CEO of Ultimate TechnoGraphics (4th from left) and her team, celebrate their award.

Ultimate TechnoGraphics (Montreal), a leader in imposition and finishing automation, has won the Print 18 Vanguard Breakthrough Award as only 5 of 76 “Red Hot Technologies” for its new Ultimate Impostrip 2019. Ultimate Impostrip was the first computer desktop imposition solution on the market in 1989, and has since been a crucial part of thousands of companies’ print production. “Having established and proven technology doesn’t mean we should stop innovating,” said Julie Watson, Ultimate TechnoGraphics’ CEO. “In fact, it means we should innovate even more, and this is exactly what we’ve done with this new generation, and what we’ll continue to deliver in the future.”
Ultimate Impostrip 2019 is the result of sizable research and development efforts directly aligned with industry trends, challenges and customers feedback, said the company. “What’s going to make our customer’s life easier?” is the underlying principle that guided this project from start to finish,” Watson added. This new version is also now native on both Mac and Windows, offers enhanced hybrid printing functionality as well as a compelling user experience with a modern and clean user interface. Ultimate Impostrip 2019 also introduces Artificial Intelligence (AI) for bound and flat work. “The Dynamic Data Feed (DDF) enables the intelligent imposition agent to choose best-fit layouts based on existing templates, a specific subset of templates, or it can create completely dynamic, optimal layout without the use of templates. The AI advances, especially for bound work, are a breakthrough for both commercial and book printing automation,” wrote the Association for Print Technologies (APT).
“We’re extremely honoured to have been awarded with the Vanguard Breakthrough Award,” continued Watson. “This project has been a great team effort at Ultimate and everyone who’s been part of the journey deserves to be recognized. Although it wasn’t possible to have the entire team at the award ceremony, those who could join accompanied me on stage to receive this award.” Ultimate Impostrip 2019 was a head-turner at Print 18 as this new generation of imposition software was characterized as “impressive innovation’’ and “a wind of renewal’’ by partners and customers at the Ultimate booth. “Ultimate Impostrip 2019 is truly a game-changer and we look forward to a successful future,” Watson added. “The new technology advances demonstrate Ultimate’s commitment in meeting customer needs for connectivity, easy integration, faster turnaround times and a more user-friendly experience.”
