UniNet (Los Angeles, California) has expanded its specialty toner product line with newly released iColor Sublimation Toner technology for use in the iColor Digital Transfer Printer Series. The CMYK sublimation toner kit produces high quality, vibrant colour prints for sublimation transfers onto polyester-based textiles, and sublimation-coated hard surface substrates such as ceramic, metal, acrylic and more. The release allows users to enhance their iColor Digital Transfer Printer capabilities by using the same machine for five different functions. These include heat transfer printing with white overprint, right-side-reading with white underprint, fluorescent printing, regular CMYK prints without white, and sublimation transfer printing. Users canmgo back and forth easily between regular toner and the sublimation toner, eliminating the need to purchase separate machines to accomplish each function.

The new toner technology offers multiple benefits compared to sublimation ink systems, said Uninet. Toner-based systems don’t require priming or cleaning, and it’s not necessary to use the printer regularly to prevent clogging of printheads. Also, UniNet iColor Sublimation cartridges offer higher yields than competing ink sublimation systems and print at much higher speeds for greater efficiency and productivity.
“Uninet continually keeps our customers competitive with new specialty toner technologies such as this one, in which one printer can take the place of several to produce high-resolution, high-quality, vibrant sublimation transfers to maximize productivity and enhance business profits,” said Joe Dovi, COO at UniNet.
