If this exhausting pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that we simply cannot survive without each other. The cliché “we’re all in this together” rings even truer during times of isolation, hardship, sickness and sadly, death. As we say goodbye to a frustrating and bittersweet year, we are all hopeful that COVID-19 vaccines will be in the arms of Canadians as quickly as possible. However, we still have a long, cold and possibly lonely winter ahead of us.
So let’s try to begin 2021 on a positive note by letting our behaviour reflect genuine patience, compassion and empathy, both at work and at home, confident that better days are ahead of us. Let’s also do our best to be positive, pro-active – and above all, kind – to each other. After all, it’s part of what makes us Canadian, isn’t it? In the meantime, stay safe, be well – and be well informed!
