X-Rite, a global leader in colour science and technology, and its subsidiary Pantone, will hold a Fundamentals of Colour Training Series in 14 locations throughout North America. The seminar series is designed to help attendees understand colour theory and implement colour quality standards in their organizations. Topicswill include visual evaluations, communicating colour specifications, colour tolerances and instrumentation. Taught by X-Rite colour experts with decades of colour management experience, the series has been conducted globally for over 25 years. These interactive seminars are ideal for colour specifiers, quality control professionals, lab technicians and anyone who evaluates colour. The Toronto sessions will take place Tuesday and Wednesday, October 25th and 26th, at the Holiday Inn Toronto International Airport Hotel, located at 970 Dixon Road. Attendees can register for either the two-day seminar or one of the individual sessions:
- Day One: Fundamentals of Colour and Appearance (FOCA) training provides a solid understanding of the art and science of colour, covering the physics of colour, importance of lighting, and how to use spectrophotometres and colour data.
- Day Two: Fundamentals of Instrumentation and Quality Control (FIQC) is a hands-on workshop where attendees use X-Rite spectrophotometres, light booths and software to create colour standards, develop appropriate colour tolerances, measure samples against target colours and analyze the results.
“Getting colour right continues to be a top concern for quality control professionals across multiple industries – and is a leading reason for product rejects,” said Murphy Keeley, Vice President of Marketing and Services, X-Rite. “The Fundamentals of Colour training brings all of the complicated scientific terms and colour management processes into everyday language to help attendees better understand why colour errors happen and how to address them. Our trainers provide practical information and advice on how to improve quality control processes by streamlining colour communication, measurement, reporting and recording.”
The seminars begin August 24 in Seattle, WA. Other locations include Baltimore, MD; Green Bay WI; Charlotte, NC; Salt Lake City, UT; Los Angeles, CA; Birmingham, AL; San Jose, CA; Memphis, TN; Providence RI; Chicago, IL; Cleveland, OH; New York City, NY, and as already mentioned, Toronto, Ontario.
