Graph Expo September 13-16 at McCormick Place in Chicago will mark the North American tradeshow debut of the Xeikon 9800, the OEM’s digital flagship document and commercial web-fed printing press. The 9800, a 2015 Must See’em Award Winner, has a top speed of 308 letter-size impressions per minute and a web width of 20.2 inches. The press comes integrated with Xeikon’s X-800 Digital Front End and can print on a wide range of untreated substrates from 40 gsm (27 lb. text) to 350 gsm (130 lb. cover). It’s uniquely adapted Xeikon QA-CD toner and high-quality imaging system deliver a print resolution of 1200 x 3600 dpi with variable-dot density.
Xeikon (Booth 849) will also showcase:

  • Personalized direct-marketing applications. The Xeikon 9800 will produce unique, high quality direct-marketing applications at the show that highlight the format flexibility, colour consistency, workflow efficiency and customization/VDP capabilities of Xeikon technology. Xeikon worked with Tecra, one of its software Aura Partners, to develop these applications. The applications will feature vivid images of vintage, culturally important and custom-built motorcycles.
  • Web Varnishing Module. The press will run inline with the Xeikon Web Varnishing Module at the show. This is a versatile unit that can apply UV or aqueous varnish on one side of a wide range of substrates. These substrates include coated papers and paperboard as well as self-adhesive label and folding-carton materials.
  • G7 Colour Matching. Xeikon will also partner with Alwan Color Expertise at the show to demonstrate its automated G7 tools for complete inline digital colour management and verification.
  • Data integrity, verification and print quality inspection systems. Xeikon will also partner with Lake Image Systems. Lake Image Systems will integrate Discovery MaxScan, its new compact scanning technology for high speed, high quality document inspection, with the Xeikon 9800.
