The new Xeikon 9600 replaces the Xeikon 8600 as the OEM’s flagship production solution. The dedicated printer for a wide range of document printing and other applications delivers a broad range of standard and non-standard formats combined with virtually unlimited lengths. The one-pass duplex web-fed system is capable of speeds of up to 14.5 mpm (47.5 fpm) at a resolution of 1200-dpi with variable dot density. It integrates the variable-data capabilities of the Xeikon X-800 front-end and incorporates a 5th colour station for spot colour reproduction and security applications. Its QA-CD dry toner enables the use of substrates without special pre-treatment, offers a wide colour gamut and has no VOC emissions. It also includes spot colours, security toners and special and technical toners.
“The press can handle a broader range of substrates at more favourable cost levels compared to the Xeikon 8600, but with the same quality and productivity,” said Monika Olbricht, Xeikon Sales Director, Document Printing. “This is increasingly a requirement for high-end variable-data printing applications. It’s an ideal solution for our customers who are growing volumes and moving to newer applications.”
Features include exceptional colour consistency and professional colour management, variable printing across both width and length, the ability to handle media weights from 40 gsm to 350 gsm (27 lb. text to 130 lb. cover) and flexible integration with PDF and IPDS workfows. The 9600 can also be field-upgraded to the Xeikon 9800 to grow with a customer’s application and productivity needs.
