Xeikon to launch its Walldeco Discovery Solution in January

Xeikon (Eede, The Netherlands) said that it will launch its “breakthrough” Walldeco Discovery Solution for affordable, cost-effective, short-run wall decoration production at the Heimtextil 2019 Tradeshow in Frankfurt, Germany, January 8 – 11, 2019. The complete end-to-end digital solution will deliver 1,200-dpi resolution at speeds up to 300 m²/hour. The technology’s central element is the OEM’s 4-colour Xeikon 3050 entry-level industrial production press. After printing, a web-varnishing module provides the option for inline varnishing of the wallpaper to enrich the effects or to better protect them. At the end of the line, a wallpaper ‘medium rewinder’ outputs the finished rolls ready for further logistics or application.

The entry-level solution is ideal for printers using wall-decoration applications for the first time, as it offers a clear upgrade path. In fact, it’s scalable up to a capacity of 900 m²/hour when producing with the much faster Xeikon CX500. The solution was designed to deliver cost-effective short runs with fast changeovers and minimal waste – while supporting faster time-to-market, streamlined logistics, and reduced stock-holding and warehousing. “The eco-friendly solution ensures colour stability and consistent, high-quality output. It can also run the broadest range of non-woven substrates, and enables a wide variety of application capabilities,” Xeikon added.
