The upgrades are aimed at quick-print shops, in-plant operations, agencies, small businesses and manufacturers – and are designed to both enhance and expand the applications they create with increased substrate flexibility and greater image quality and accuracy. Software updates and feature enhancements to Xerox’s popular Color C60/C70 Printers are “opening application opportunities to print environments of any size” and include:
- Better media and paper weight management. New capabilities make it easier to handle an even wider range of substrates to include lightweight media (60 gsm) often used for dictionaries, along with heavier, more challenging stocks (256 gsm 2-sided/300 gsm 1-sided) traditionally used for cards or invitations.
- Improved accuracy and image quality. Now, integrated into the device, Simple Image Quality Adjustment (SIQA) helps maintain registration and support difficult jobs such as two-sided business cards. The upgraded device also has Closed Loop Process Controls that translate to higher quality printing with less operator involvement.
- Enhanced workflow and automation. Unique to a device in this class are new digital front ends (DFE’s) that include FreeFlow Print Server with new production colour management tools. A first in the industry, the new EFI Fiery NX station features Fiery QuickTouch technology that enables high-end production colour management on an entry device.
“Customers will find added value in what we’ve done to the award-winning Xerox Color C60/C70 Printers,” said Fred Ramsey, Global Product Marketing Manager at Xerox. “We’ve kept the small footprint and entry-level pricing but added features normally associated with our high-end production printers.”
The Xerox Color C60/C70 was awarded the 2016 Buyers Laboratory Production Printer PRO Award for its reliability and above-average colour stability on both uncoated and coated media. “It now offers even greater accuracy and media flexibility,” said the company. The Xerox Color C60/C70 is available for global order taking at various times throughout October of 2016. Customers already operating a Xerox Color C60/C70 can upgrade the software and components to include the new enhancements.
