Xerox simplifies colour management for its inkjet presses

xeroxinkjetcm-inXerox is reducing the time-consuming, process-intensive colour correction procedure for its production inkjet presses. Print shops running Xerox inkjet presses without an inline spectrophotometre, regardless of manufacturer, can maintain consistent colour from job to job with Xerox’s IntregratedPLUS Automated Color Management (ACM) solution. Without any additional hardware investments, the ACM solution maintains accurate colour with the use of a scanner and laptop, said the OEM. With no colour expertise required, the solution automates colour correction processes, decreasing the number of steps and “drastically” reducing the downtime of a press “from hours to minutes.” Users simply scan a printed sheet, send it to the cloud via ACM, and the details are delivered back in minutes.

With built-in automation, the solution ensures print jobs are achieving predictable and accurate colour throughout the entire production process. “ACM can improve productivity, increase workflow efficiencys and simplify colour management so print providers can focus on getting more jobs through their shops,” said Xerox. The system provides specification feedback for press operators along with procedures for any out-of-spec engine that requires colour maintenance.
“IntegratedPLUS Automated Color Management reduces workflow complexities and increases accuracy with automation of press monitoring, profiling and spot colour updates,” said Mike Lacagnina, Worldwide IntegratedPLUS Business Manager, Xerox. “At drupa, we’ll be showcasing how this solution reduces workflow steps from 34 to 9 on the Xerox Rialto 900 Inkjet Press.”
