Edmonton, Alberta-based print shop Capital Colour has invested in a new MIS system from Tharstern to help them grow profits and be more competitive by better understanding the costs associated with each job they produce. Capital Colour offers full-service printing with a team of more than 20 employees. They have the expertise to print and deliver everything from business cards, brochures and annual reports, to mail campaigns, packaging and wall murals. After looking into four different print Management Information Systems (MIS), they eventually chose Tharstern. James Stride, Plant Manager at Capital Colour pointed to the Tharstern team’s knowledge and experience, and the efficiency of the software. “During the demos of the Tharstern program, it seemed to have a similar flow to our current system, but with many new functions that we didn’t have,” Stride pointed out. Our main goal was to have a better and more complete MIS System and give us a platform to build upon in the future.” Capital Colour will use its Tharstern MIS software to better understand their costs and work out which jobs are the most profitable, as well as exploring areas in which they need to invest or upgrade. This information will put Capital Colour in a better position to meet the demands of the market and stay ahead of their competition.
Ross Edwards, Customer Enrollment Manager at Tharstern, is leading the partnership. “Capital Colour were keen to find a solution that was user-friendly yet comprehensive. Like us, Capital Colour has a real focus on doing more with their MIS and integrating to help automate their business and support their growth aspirations. Our experts in solutions and workflow really helped the Capital Colour team explore the capabilities and benefits of integration to PrePress and Press departments, and think of new ways of working,” he added.
